There is about 900km between Sydney and Brisbane on the East Coast. This part of New South Wales is essentially composed of Great National Parks and wild beaches.
We begin by a tour in the Hunter valley, to taste what is tell to be the best wine made in Australia.... people are so friendly that you can easily go out from those degustations completely drunk!
Then we choose to stop in four points: Lake Macquarie (quiet spot perfect for picnic, not known by any Tourist books but by our new fabulous GPS! ;)), Seal Rocks (amazing place at the North end of Myall National Park), South West Rocks and to finish Byron Bay (wild and quiet small town which definitely has to be visited on your way to Queensland).
Except crazy ants and mosquitos which become more and more numerous as you go up on the coast, those places are really nice spots to rest and enjoy ocean beacuse first few tourists are staying there and second, jellyfishs are (usually) not visible in this part of the coast.
Then, we cross Queensland boarder going to Surfer Paradise meeting Juven and his friends in their 60 floors building in front of the ocean. This place is a small Vegas in Australia, incredibly influenced by American spirit. This is a good spot for students, who come each year for their Spring break holidays and for surfers (RipCurl and Quicksilver Surf contests are going on there).
We finally buy there our 7 feet Longboard which fits perfeclty in the van ;) and so we are now ready to enjoy waves (despite of sharks and Jellyfish's risks of course)!
